Ameren Illinois customers will have an opportunity to voice their opinions on a proposed $134 million natural gas rate hike. The Illinois Commerce Commission is organizing public hearings in Springfield and East St. Louis, allowing residents to share how the increase could affect their households. Individuals unable to attend in person can provide feedback online or call the Consumer Services Division directly. This proposal marks one of the largest rate increases in recent years for natural gas users in the state. The commission aims to gather input from as many customers as possible before making a final decision on the adjustment.
The Illinois Commerce Commission is inviting Ameren Illinois customers to share their thoughts on a proposed natural gas rate hike during two upcoming public hearings. The first meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 27, from 7:00 to 9:30 PM at the CMS Regional Complex, 4800 West Wabash Avenue in Springfield. The second hearing will be held on Thursday, August 28, from 7:00 to 9:30 PM at New Life Community Church, 1919 State Street in East St. Louis.
The Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) has scheduled hearings to scrutinize this proposal through a formal 11-month legal process. Ameren representatives will present their case, and consumers are encouraged to provide feedback. Those unable to attend in person can submit comments online through the ICC website or call the Consumer Services Division at 1-800-524-0795. ICC staff will address public questions after the comment session, but commissioners will review all evidence after the hearings. Vicki Crawford will be present for further information onsite.
