The Dixon Police Department regrets to inform the community that missing person, David Dykema, has been located deceased in Whiteside County.
Over the past several days, the Dixon Police Department, in coordination with the Dixon City Fire Department, Dixon Rural Fire Department, Sterling Fire Department, Rock Falls Fire Department, and the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office, has conducted extensive search efforts in an attempt to locate David. Tragically, those efforts concluded with the discovery of his body. Chief Ryan Bivins stated, “Our thoughts and prayers are with David’s family and friends during this difficult time.”
The investigation into this incident remains ongoing, pending the results of an autopsy. We ask the community to keep David’s loved ones in their thoughts during this time of loss.

The Dixon Police Department requests the assistance in locating David Dykema, age 52, of Dixon. Dykema was last seen early this morning in the 300 block of Depot Avenue. Dykema is a white male, & 172 pounds, last seen wearing jeans, a baggy shirt, and a Chicago Cubs hat.
