A local series aims to help residents boost bone health through nutrition and fitness. Nutrition and Wellness Educator Susan Glassman from Illinois Extension will lead “Eating for Bone Health” sessions, focusing on key nutrients beyond calcium, including daily requirements for vitamin D and other bone-supporting foods. The program highlights how lifestyle choices and regular physical activity contribute to strong bones and reduced osteoporosis risk. Attendees can expect expert advice, tasty bone-healthy recipes, and even a sample of a nutritious snack mix. Sessions are held on October 7 at Walnut Public Library and on October 15 at Utica Public Library. Registration and accommodation details are available online and by phone.
