Ravens QB Lamar Jackson remains out with hamstring injury

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson missed another full week of practice with a hamstring injury, moving the team closer to using Cooper Rush under center for a second consecutive game.

The Ravens (1-4) carry a three-game losing streak into their Week 6 matchup in Baltimore against the Los Angeles Rams (3-2).

Jackson already missed the team’s Week 5 game with the injury as the Ravens lost for the fourth time already this season. Their embarrassing 44-10 home defeat to the Houston Texans last week came with Rush at quarterback.

Jackson, a two-time NFL Most Valuable Player, was injured in the third quarter of a 37-20 loss at Kansas City in Week 4. He has been unable to practice since he finished that game on the bench nursing the muscle strain.

Rush, who was signed in the offseason, threw three interceptions on 14-of-20 passing for 179 yards against the Texans. Tyler Huntley, who started his career in Baltimore and is back after one season with the Miami Dolphins, was elevated from the practice squad last week to serve as the backup.

Since Jackson took over the starting role in 2019, the Ravens are 4-10 when the three-time first-team All-Pro and four-time Pro Bowl selection does not start.

Baltimore’s injury news was not all bad. Left tackle Ronnie Stanley (ankle) safety Kyle Hamilton (groin), cornerback Marlon Humphrey (calf), cornerback Chidobe Awuzie (hamstring) and fullback Pat Ricard (calf) all were on the practice field again Friday.

Along with Jackson, linebacker Roquan Smith (hamstring) and wide receiver Devontez Walker (oblique) also missed Thursday’s practice.
