Pre-season preview of the 1979 Bombers, in the Macomb Daily Journal. They won the Heartland Conference and became the first Macomb Bomber Football team to make the IHSA Playoffs.
In the 3A Playoffs they would defeat Alton Marquette, before falling to Geneseo in the Quarterfinals.
