Runners and walkers are gearing up for the 44th Annual “Run Your Ice Off” 5K in Kewanee on December 31st at 1 PM. The event kicks off at the Flemish American Club on North Burr Boulevard at 11 AM with check-in and packet pickup, serving as both the start and finish line. Those interested in participating can register for $40 until December 21st, with the fee rising to $25 after that date. A long-sleeve sweatshirt is included with the registration fee through December 21st. Organizers will recognize achievements with awards in a variety of age groups, fostering friendly competition. The race also welcomes walkers alongside runners, making it inclusive for all fitness levels. Participants are encouraged to sign up early to secure their spot in this long-standing community tradition. After the race, a celebration at the Flemish American Club offers refreshments and door prizes. Awards are set for top finishers across several age groups, with special recognition for the fastest local participants
