    IMPACTS
    Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday evening commute.

    Slow down and use caution while traveling. In Iowa, the latest road conditions are available at 511ia.org or by calling 511. In Illinois, the latest road conditions are available at gettingaroundillinois.com. Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury.

(The Center Square) – In today’s edition of Illinois in Focus Daily, The Center Square Editor Greg Bishop discusses a bill Gov. J.B. Pritzker is scheduled to sign Tuesday morning, expanding the state’s migrant sanctuary policies and the criticism Republicans have for the bill that impacts child daycares, universities and hospitals.

Bishop also reviews some of the ongoing debates over taxing and spending in the city of Chicago. Mayor Brandon Johnson says negotiations continue as the city faces an end-of-month deadline to pass a budget. Johnson is looking for tax increases.

Finally, Bishop shares the highlights from the latest “Judicial Hellholes” report from American Tort Reform Association. ATR President Tiger Joyce discusses why three Illinois counties are “Judicial Hellholes.”
