    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 30 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

Illinois Air National Guard has New Leadership from Morrison

Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker has appointed Colonel Steven B. Rice, Director of Staff for the Illinois Air National Guard, as the new Assistant Adjutant General – Air. Rice, from Morrison, Illinois, will be elevated to Brigadier General, serving as a key deputy to Major General Rodney Boyd, Adjutant General and National Guard Commander.

This leadership change follows the retirement of Major General Dan McDonough, who steps down after nearly 38 years of dedicated service. Rice brings extensive experience to the role and will play a central part in guiding the state’s Air National Guard operations moving forward.
