Trump Invites Netanyahu To Join New ‘Board of Peace’ on Gaza

By The Media Line Staff

US President Donald Trump has invited Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to join the White House’s newly announced “Board of Peace,” a body the administration says will oversee postwar governance and reconstruction planning for Gaza, even as questions grow over whether the initiative could expand beyond the enclave.

Officials familiar with the outreach said Trump’s invitation to Netanyahu, or a designated representative, was part of a wider push to assemble a leaders-level forum, with invitations sent to more than 50 countries. Several governments, including Argentina, Canada, Egypt, and Turkey, have publicly acknowledged receiving invitations in recent days, while participation has not been uniformly confirmed.

“Members of the Board will be announced shortly,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, “but I can say with certainty that it is the Greatest and Most Prestigious Board ever assembled at any time, any place.”

In remarks published before the formal rollout, Trump indicated the panel’s remit could widen beyond Gaza. “It’s going to, in my opinion, start with Gaza and then do conflicts as they arise,” he said. Asked about its goals, Trump replied: “…like-other countries that are going to war with each other.”

The administration has paired the Board of Peace with a subordinate Gaza Executive Board, positioned above a newly announced Palestinian technocratic administration that Washington says is meant to replace Hamas in governing Gaza. The executive board’s announced members include Israeli-Cypriot businessman Yakir Gabay, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, and senior Qatari official Ali Al-Thawadi, along with US officials and international figures. Netanyahu’s office has objected publicly to the Gaza Executive Board’s composition, saying it was not coordinated with Israel and runs counter to Israeli policy.
