Illinois State Police Troop 1 reported significant enforcement activity during January. Troopers issued 798 citations and 685 written warnings across the eight-county area. Speeding remained a top concern, with 387 citations handed out. Authorities investigated 91 crashes; notably, none were fatal.
Troopers also provided assistance to 215 stranded or distressed motorists and conducted 125 inspections on commercial vehicles. In addition, law enforcement made 14 criminal arrests over the month. These numbers reflect Troop 1’s ongoing commitment to safety and proactive policing throughout the region, aiming to keep Illinois roads secure for all travelers.
