Illinois Humanities’ 2026-27 Road Scholars Speaker Anna Sielaff is set to bring the vibrant history of women’s baseball to life at the Sterling-Rock Falls Historical Society on Sunday, February 8th. The event, also sponsored by the Sterling Public Library, welcomes the public to the Lincoln Learning Center at 2:00 p.m.
Sielaff will trace the sport’s evolution from its roots in the 1800s to the formation of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, spotlighting Illinois teams like the Rockford Peaches. Attendees will hear about league traditions, such as unique uniforms and “Charm School,” and enjoy refreshments following the presentation.
