Sterling Police officers were kept busy with a series of incidents. Authorities arrested Matthew R. Kelly of Sterling, who was wanted for probation violation and failing to appear on theft charges. Kelly was transported to the Whiteside County Jail. In a separate case, Taylor R. Thompson of Rock Falls received a citation for a child restraint violation. Officers also issued additional citations related to obstructing a court order and various traffic offenses.
All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
