Sheriff John F. Booker will retain his role as Whiteside County Sheriff after the 2026 election filing period passed without any challengers entering the race. Booker has more than 30 years of service in the department and credits community trust for the uncontested race. Recent achievements under his leadership include implementing a unified 911 dispatch system and developing the county’s first fully equipped SWAT team.
With no opposition on the ballot, Booker is set to continue overseeing law enforcement initiatives in Whiteside County, emphasizing continued progress and accountability in public safety programs.
