WASHINGTON, DC – Representative Sorensen released the following statement in opposition to giving additional, unrestricted funding to the Department of Homeland Security.

“Once again, I voted against Republicans’ bill to give billions of dollars to ICE as the agency terrorizes my neighbors, tears families apart, and kills unarmed American citizens. This bill does not provide real solutions to improve public safety, fix our broken immigration system, or provide pathways to citizenship—it gives Trump a blank check to intimidate the American people,” said Rep. Sorensen. “If my Republican colleagues truly care about public safety, they should support a bill that protects and funds aviation safety, federal disaster assistance, and our Coast Guard.”
