Long-serving City Administrator Robbin Blackert is set to retire in about a year, prompting a series of leadership changes at City Hall. Gabriella McKanna, formerly the First Ward Alderperson, has resigned her seat as of February 28th to become the new assistant city administrator, positioning herself as part of a planned succession.

Mayor Rod Kleckler is inviting community members to express interest in filling McKanna’s vacant alderperson position for the remainder of her term. The mayor’s office anticipates naming an appointee next month, aiming for a smooth transition during this pivotal period for city leadership.
