The City of Dixon is moving forward with a $371,000 investment in its police radio system, known as STARCOM21. This substantial upgrade is designed to address long-standing issues with communication “dead spots” that have hindered emergency response. Once completed, Dixon police officers will experience clearer, more reliable contact both within city limits and with neighboring county agencies.

Officials emphasize that improved radio connectivity will lead to faster response times and greater safety for both officers and the public. The funding comes as part of the city’s newly approved budget, reflecting a commitment to modernizing public safety infrastructure.
