Lanes Reopening Where Possible for Memorial Day Holiday Travel
The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that lanes that have been closed for construction will reopen, where possible, for the Memorial Day weekend to minimize travel disruption.
Non-emergency closures will be suspended from 3 p.m. Friday, May 22nd, to 11:59 p.m. Monday, May 25th.
The following lane closures will remain in place during the holiday weekend.
District 2
Henry County
- I-80 from Barstow Road to Poppy Garden Road in Colona; lane reductions continue.
Ogle County
- Illinois 38 at I-39 in Rochelle; lane reductions continue, with traffic controlled by temporary signals.
- Illinois 64 over Elk Horn Creek near Brookville; lane reductions continue.
Rock Island County
- I-280 from the Rock Island-Milan Parkway to the Henry County line; lane reductions continue.
Whiteside County
- U.S. 30 at Moline Road west of Rock Falls; lane reductions continue.
Winnebago County
- Westbound U.S. 20 from Mill Road to State Street in Cherry Valley; lane reductions contin
The public can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through these areas. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and stay alert for workers and equipment. At all times, please buckle up and drive sober.
