Kewanee Pride Picnic has a new date of September 26th at Windmont Park

Kewanee’s Fall Pride Picnic is set for September 26th, 2026, running from 4 to 9 PM at Windmont Park’s Ketridge North End Pavilion. Guests are invited to enjoy the fall scenery while celebrating community in a welcoming atmosphere. The event features grilled Nathan’s Jumbo hot dogs and a loaded baked potato bar, offering classic, chili cheese, and taco-style potatoes with plenty of toppings. Refreshments, including soda and water, will be provided, and attendees are encouraged to bring a dish to share if possible. This community gathering is organized by Kewanee Resistance’s outreach project.

Kewanee’s Pride Picnic Committee is preparing for another year of celebration and inclusivity. Established in 2025 by Kewanee Resistance after the city’s traditional Pride Festival was cancelled, the committee transformed the annual event into a vibrant community picnic. The gathering aims to bring together LGBTQ+ residents, allies, and supporters, ensuring Pride remains visible in Kewanee. Organizers focus on outreach, acceptance, and fostering connections through music, food, and activities for all ages. This year’s event continues the tradition, highlighting resilience and unity in the face of previous setbacks.
