Physical Therapy Assistant, Mallory Reiber, 2026 Sunflower Award Winner at OSF HealthCare Saint Luke
OSF HealthCare Saint Luke Medical Center is honoring Mallory Reiber, a physical therapy assistant, as its 2026 Sunflower Award winner. Reiber was nominated for her compassionate work helping a patient recover from a hip fracture and regain strength to return home. The patient says Reiber’s encouragement helped her reach a cherished goal: walking at her grandson’s wedding. OSF leaders say the Sunflower Award recognizes extraordinary care from non-nursing Mission Partners whose dedication makes a lasting difference. Winners receive an award pin, certificate, sculpture, embroidered tote bag, sunflowers, and a department banner. Nominations can be submitted through the OSF HealthCare Foundation’s “Sunflower Award Page.”
“Mallory was so kind, thoughtful, and encouraging throughout my recovery,” the patient shared. “She pushed me in the best way and helped me reach my goal of walking at my grandson’s wedding. I feel so blessed to have had her as a caregiver.”
“Outstanding nursing care is recognized through the DAISY Award, but there are Mission Partners, like Jill, who are not nurses and are providing extraordinary care. It’s awesome to be able to recognize them with the Sunflower Award, as they are all truly deserving of the honor,” said Kory Tinkham, vice president of Operations and Special Projects at OSF Saint Luke.
