Go Fishing with Dad for Free This Weekend
Illinois anglers can hit the water this weekend without buying a license. The state’s Free Fishing Days run from June 19 through June 22, opening public waters statewide to anyone who wants to cast a line. During the four-day event, fishing licenses and inland trout stamps are not required. State officials say it’s a chance for families, beginners, and seasoned anglers to enjoy lakes, rivers, and ponds across Illinois.
Regular fishing limits and regulations still apply, so check local rules before heading out. Pack the tackle box, grab some bait, and make the most of a license-free weekend outdoors.
