Update – Kewanee Police Seek Driver in Alleged Hit-and-Run Involving Bicyclist at Tenney and McClure Streets

Kewanee Police are searching for a Jeep involved in a hit-and-run incident with a bicyclist on Wednesday afternoon

Update – The Kewanee Police Department said they have identified the driver of the vehicle and the driver has been charged regarding the accident.

Kewanee police say the bicyclist involved in a hit-and-run at Tenney and McClure Streets has been identified, but investigators are still searching for the driver. The crash occurred around 3:20 PM on June 24, 2026, and involved a black 2021-to-2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. Witnesses reported the incident but were unable to obtain a license plate number. Police initially checked area hospitals for the bicyclist and found no patients with injuries matching those from the crash. Anyone with information or security camera footage from the area is asked to call Kewanee Police at 309-853-1911. The investigation remains ongoing.
