Northwestern Steel and Wire Park
Sterling’s riverfront redevelopment is moving closer to completion. The City Council has approved a 297-thousand-dollar payment for Phase One work at Northwestern Steel and Wire Park. The vote came after a detailed review, with some council members raising minor concerns about specific workmanship before agreeing to move forward.
The payment is described as the second-to-last installment for this phase of the project. City leaders say the park remains a key piece of ongoing efforts to transform the former industrial riverfront into a public gathering space. Final work and remaining payments are expected to follow as the project nears completion.
