Swanson National Guard Recruitment Bill Signed into Law
Governor JB Pritzker signed a number of bills into law this week that will fortify recruitment to the Illinois National Guard including a bill sponsored in the House by State Representative Dan Swanson of Alpha.
According to Swanson, the program leverages the indispensable knowledge of current Illinois National Guard members to facilitate the enlistment of new soldiers and airmen and provides financial compensation for successful referrals.
Swanson said “This will make it possible for more Illinoisans to have opportunities to access all the training and job skills that National Guard membership can provide.”
Neighboring states have reported increased recruitment through similar programs.
