Adrian Rogers Held on $1 Million Bond for Attempted Murder of East Moline Police Officer


East Moline police officer in critical condition after being attacked by a man wanted for aggravated arson. On October 24, 2022, around 6:30 PM, Sergeant William Lind located a suspect wanted on a probable cause warrant for aggravated arson out of Rock Island County walking in the 1900 block of Morton Drive in East Moline. The suspect, identified as Adrian W Rogers, 52, of East Moline, physically attacked Sergeant Lind and fled on foot. Officers arrived on scene to assist and found Sergeant Lind unconscious with head injuries. Sergeant Lind was transported to Genesis Illini Hospital in Silvis and later transported to a hospital out of the area for further treatment. Sergeant Lind is in critical condition with life threatening injuries. The incident was captured on Sergeant Lind’s body camera.

Officers and Investigators from the East Moline Police Department, along with several surrounding agencies, immediately began searching for Adrian Rogers. Around 10:50 PM, Rogers was located in Colona and taken into custody by the Colona Police Department.

Rogers was formally charged with Attempted Murder (Class X Felony) and Aggravated Battery to a Police Officer (Class 2 Felony) on October 25, 2022, for the incident with Sergeant Lind. Aggravated Arson (Class X Felony) and Residential Arson (Class 1 Felony) have been approved by the Rock Island State’s Attorney. Adrian Rogers is held in the Henry County Jail on a $1 Million Bond until transport to the Rock Island County Jail.
