The Illinois State Fair has revealed “Adventure Awaits” as the 2025 theme, inviting attendees to embark on new experiences next summer. Scheduled from August 7th to August 17th in Springfield, this annual event will feature its beloved Twilight Parade, which kicks off in Lincoln Park and winds through the historic fairgrounds. Organizers are now accepting parade entry applications, with a deadline set for July 8th. Anticipation is building for a wide array of family-friendly activities, livestock competitions, live entertainment, and classic fair food, all promising to deliver the excitement and spirit suggested by this year’s adventurous theme. “The Twilight Parade is the perfect way to kick off this adventure,” said Jerry Costello II, Director of the Illinois Department of Agriculture. “This year’s theme invites every fairgoer to discover something new, and it all starts with the parade.”

- Carnival rides open at noon—all rides just $3 all day on August 7
- “Double the Fun” parking deal – pay to park on August 7 and return with free parking on August 12, 13, or 14
