Annawan High School is set to honor service members today with a special Veterans Day ceremony in the school gym. Doors open at 8:30 AM with a complimentary breakfast for veterans, followed by the main event at 9. The ceremony will feature Army representative Eric Hayes as the guest speaker, addressing veterans, students, and community members. Organizers encourage both veterans and the public to attend and show their appreciation for those who have served. The event offers an opportunity for the community to come together in recognition and gratitude for the sacrifices made by local heroes.

Fifth-grade students in Mrs. Van Hyfte’s Computer Skills class have been putting their digital talents to work by designing flyers for the upcoming Veterans Day Ceremony. The class used Google Slides to craft their own creative designs, showcasing both their graphic and computer abilities. Out of all the entries, Carter Izral’s flyer was chosen to represent the ceremony and will be displayed on the school’s website. This project not only honors local veterans but also spotlights the impressive skills of young students learning to communicate through technology.
