Annual American Legion Veteran’s Day Program at WHS on November 11th

Wethersfield High School is gearing up for a heartfelt Veterans Day celebration on November 11th. In honor of those who served, the school invites the community to partake in a vibrant event starting at 9:30 AM with a welcoming reception. The program kicks off at 10 AM in the school gym, featuring patriotic performances by the high school band, input from city officials, and student speeches. A poignant moment of the day will be the 21-gun salute scheduled at 11 AM. Organizers encourage attendees to don red, white, and blue to visually express their respect and gratitude. This event promises to be a moving tribute to our veterans.

“To show our appreciation and unity, we encourage all district students to wear red, white, and blue on Monday! This will be a wonderful way for our students to visually show their respect and gratitude for the sacrifices made by our veterans.”

Schedule Highlights:
• National Anthem performed by Brooke Shores & Saphyre Murphy and the WHS band
• Introduction of Color Guard
• POW/MIA Recognition
• Remarks from the Mayor
• Student speakers (one from Wethersfield High School, one from Kewanee High School)
• 21-gun salute on the High School front lawn at 11:00 AM
