Galesburg’s Housing Repair Assistance Program is now accepting applications from eligible homeowners seeking support for essential home repairs. Grants of up to $4,500 are available for improvements such as minor roof repairs, updating old HVAC equipment, fixing electrical and plumbing issues, and enhancing safety features like smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. To qualify, household income must be at or below 80% of the area median, and applicants need to provide proof of income and homeownership, along with contractor estimates. Funding is limited, with homeowners responsible for 5% of project costs. Apply at City Hall or the city website.
