Illinois Valley Community College is inviting community members to step into dance this fall, offering beginner swing and salsa classes at its Oglesby campus. The sessions, perfect for newcomers, span six weeks from October 21 to December 16, with a brief pause on November 11 and November 25. Participants can look forward to learning fundamental moves in a lively, supportive environment. Organizers encourage anyone interested in expanding their dance repertoire or meeting new people to join. Details about class times, fees, and registration can be found on the college’s official website, ensuring easy access for those eager to sign up.
Classes span six Tuesdays from 7 PM to 8:15 PM. For those drawn to Latin beats, Salsa for Beginners will follow each week at 8:15 PM, covering basic steps, timing, and partner spins. Both sessions run through December 16, inviting everyone to step onto the dance floor.
Registration is now open for a series of partner dance classes at Oglesby’s Lincoln School. Instructors Jane and Rodney Schomas will lead the sessions, designed for all skill levels—even those with no prior dance experience. Each series is priced at $75 per couple, and both partners must sign up together.
