Holiday cheer comes alive in Bishop Hill as the annual Julmarknad, or Christmas Market, returns November 28 and 29, with festivities continuing into December. A highlight is the Cookie Walk at the Colony School, open from 9 AM to 3 PM on November 28 and 29. Visitors can buy homemade cookies and baked goods by the pound, with proceeds supporting the Bishop Hill United Methodist Church and the Bishop Hill Old Settlers’ Association. The Colony School also hosts the Advent Workshop, offering families a chance to create their own wreaths. Enjoy Swedish holiday traditions, music, and crafts throughout Bishop Hill as the season kicks off in festive style. The Colony School is located at 405 West Main Street.
