Black Hawk College has celebrated academic excellence by honoring nine East Campus students at the 41st Annual Founders’ Scholars Awards ceremony. The distinction recognizes outstanding achievement, requiring a minimum 3.80 GPA, at least 30 credit hours at the college, and completion of an Associate in Arts or Science degree. This year’s recipients include Lillia Atteberry (Bradford), Lauren Best (Wyoming), Ally Cytrych (Polo), Cheyanne Judd (Cortland), Amber Long (Blairsville, PA), Will Rumbold (Galva), Alexis Shaw (Petersburg), Kailey Smith (Wyoming), and Kali Yelm (Galva). Five of the honorees—Cheyanne Judd, Will Rumbold, Kailey Smith, Alexis Shaw, and Lauren Best—were pictured at the ceremony, marking an inspiring milestone for East Campus scholars.
The award is named after the East Campus founders, Dr. Glenn Case, James Golby, Gust “Brick” Lundberg, Theodore “Ted” Vlahos, and Robert White, and is presented by the East Campus faculty.
