Black Hawk Community College is a unique American institution and a place where anyone can become a college student.  Black Hawk Community College is celebrating Community College Month during the month of April.  Black Hawk College began in 1946 in Moline to accommodate World War II veterans seeking a higher education. Moline Community College became Black Hawk Community College and has grown to serve communities in the Quad City and Kewanee areas. “A lot has changed in the last seven decades, but one thing has not – Black Hawk College is still here, adapting and evolving to continue serving the needs of the community.”

Black Hawk College offers opportunities for:

  • High school students to earn college credit while still in high school.
  • Recent graduates, and adult learners, can get an education and quickly enter the workforce.
  • Businesses to hire local employees with specialized skills and training.
  • Immigrants to learn English and become part of their new community.

Want to become a Black Hawk College student? Apply for free April 22nd-30th.
