Families are invited to explore themed trick-or-treating stations, each manned by BHC students and employees, which will feature science and math activities designed to thrill and teach. The event also includes interactive games and a unique chance to meet costumed horses in the campus barns. Suitable for children up to 6th grade, this community event is free of charge. The 2024 Stampede Auction of Champion Pumpkins is set to take place on Wednesday, October 23, at Black Hawk College East Campus. The event kicks off at noon in the cafeteria of Building A, where attendees can bid on a variety of pumpkins and pumpkin-themed items. Members of the BHC Livestock Judging Team will be on hand to evaluate and critique each entry, ensuring a fun and fair auction led by esteemed auctioneer and BHC alum, Bill LeSage. This event, sponsored by the BHC East Campus United Way team, invites the public to participate and promises an engaging afternoon with all proceeds benefiting the Kewanee Area United Way.
