Assisting someone with daily tasks after an injury—like transferring from a wheelchair to a couch, or simply holding a coffee mug—can make a world of difference. Black Hawk College is launching a new Occupational Therapy Assistant program designed to train students for this hands-on, high-demand field. Applications for the Fall 2026 class are due by March 1, 2026. Requirements include 10 observation hours, a personal statement, two recommendation letters, and completion of the Health Science Reasoning Test. After graduating in just over two years, students are eligible to take the national certification exam. Details are available at bhc.edu/ota.
