As announced on December 12th, students at Black Hawk College were able to hand over a donation of $8,400 dollars to the Kewanee Area United Way, money that will be used to support local non-profits in the Henry and Stark County area. From the Kewanee Area United Way…

“Each year the freshman and sophomore students plan and execute the Pumpkin Stampede, working with the mentoring staff, to raise money for Kewanee Area United Way(KAUW). The check was presented at the BHC Community Education Center in Kewanee by the members of the Livestock Judging team and BHC staff working with the team and received by members of the KAUW Board of Directors.”

They continued talking about the history of the working and fundraising relationship between Black Hawk College students and the Kewanee Area United Way…

“The Pumpkin Auction at Black Hawk College raised $8400. Every year from 1994 onward, BHC has raised money to support Kewanee Area United Way as KAUW works with approximately 16 nonprofit agencies in this area to provide services that are vital to residents in Henry and Stark County. Since 1994, the staff and students have raised in excess of $217,000. WHAT A HISTORY OF SERVICE!”
