The Kewanee Boilermakers scored a win in the first game of the Earlville Invitations against last year’s champions, Westminster Christian, on Friday, August 30th. “The boilermakers came with the winning mentality against a hard rival,” said coach Jesus Bermudez. According to Coach Bermudez, the defense kept possession of the ball, ending the first half 0-0. At the start of the second half, Kewanee had the opportunity to score outside of the box with a free kick by Isidro Martinez and she scored. Westminster Christion started pushing back and scored one goal. At the 20-minute mark, Isidro Martinez scored a goal again at the right bottom of the goalie. Tyson Currie attempted a goal but the ball went on the side of the net. Dillon Price worked hard with the goal to save the Boilermakers a couple of times. They play against DePue on August 31st.
