MACOMB, IL – The Macomb Bomber Scholastic Bowl team has punched their ticket to the State competition following a challenging outing at the Macomb Sectional on Saturday, where they emerged as Sectional Champions.
The day started with a match against match against Galesburg, which the Bomber won with solid 410-350 final score. In their second match, they fell to East Peoria in a close 310-330 match, but a third round tiebreaker would seal the win for the Bombers as they convincingly beat Rochester 440-230.
They’re moving onto the State Competition this weekend in Bloomington, facing off against teams from Rockford, Carbondale, Aurora, Urbana, Flossmoor, Buffalo Grove, and Chicago. The first match starts at 10 a.m.
