Children and families in Colchester have a new reason to visit the library this week. Memorial Hospital is teaming up with the Colchester District Library for “Books and Bites,” a free event designed to promote reading and healthy lifestyles. Young attendees can enjoy story time sessions, then get expert nutrition tips from hospital dietitians. Healthy snacks will be served to all participants. Organizers say the event is open to all ages and hope it encourages families to make mindful choices while having fun together. The event aims to combine learning with wellness in a welcoming community setting. The event will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025, from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Colchester District Library, 203 Macomb St., Colchester, Illinois.
“At Memorial Hospital, we are committed to promoting health and wellness in our communities,” said Housewright, Executive Director Community Health & Wellness at Memorial Hospital. “We’re excited to team up with the Colchester Library to help kids discover the fun of reading and learn simple ways to make nutritious choices.”
