Some people unleashed their inner hero at the Braveheart CAC 3rd Annual Superhero 5K Run/Walk on May 3, 2025, in Baker Park, Kewanee. Participants of all ages attended the run/walk, with some wearing superhero costumes, and enjoyed a morning of community spirit, beginning with a resource fair at 9 AM. The 5K run starts at 10, followed by a complimentary kids’ fun run after the last 5K finisher. Families also competed in “Minute to Win It” games, with awards for the day’s top runners. Braveheart Children’s Advocacy Center’s annual 5K event brought a lively crowd to Baker’s Park, where participants not only ran for a worthy cause but also could enter for a chance to win a brand-new car seat.
