    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in 30 minutes or less. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

Bureau County Farm Bureau and COUNTRY Financial Launch Hygiene Drive through December 1, 2025

Bureau County Farm Bureau and COUNTRY Financial have launched a community hygiene drive aimed at tackling “hygiene poverty” in the region. Items in high demand include soap, shampoo, body wash, deodorant, body spray, and period products. Cleaning supplies, such as toilet paper, laundry detergent, and dish soap, are also on the list. There is a growing need for new underwear, bras, socks, and gloves. Ensuring access to these basic items helps protect health and dignity for those who are struggling. Donations will benefit OSF Saint Clare Medical Center, ensuring that these goods reach local organizations serving community members in need. Supporters can drop off new, unopened hygiene products, cleaning items, and personal necessities at the Organizers are collecting new, unopened personal care items and cleaning products at the Bureau County Farm Bureau in Princeton, as well as COUNTRY Financial offices across Princeton, Sheffield, Walnut, Tiskilwa, and Spring Valley, through December 1st. Community participation can help neighbors feel confident and healthy.
