Cambridge’s 7th-grade girls track team is celebrating big after clinching their second state trophy in four years, placing 4th out of 51 teams. The weekend saw standout performances across the board, with Leah Vande Kemp racking up All-State honors in multiple events and breaking the 800-meter school record. The 4×200 relay team broke the 2023 school record and missed All-State by only 0.44 seconds. The 4×200 relay team included Ella Grant, Haiyden Berthoud, Leah Vande Kemp, and Ruby Bea. The 4×400 relay team also shattered the previous school record from 2024 and earned them a 3rd place finish. The 4×400 relay team featured Meredith Secymore, Ruby Beam, Hayden Palanos, and Leah Vande Kemp. Ruby Beam placed 6th in the long jump, and Leah Vande Kemp placed 3rd in the 1600-meter run. Hayden Palanos took home 5th place in the hurdles. Leah Vande Kemp and Ruby Bea joined forces to take 2nd place and 6th place in the 800-meter run. Anna Doubet took 6th place in the discus. An outstanding season for these young athletes, raising the bar for Cambridge track.
