April marks the celebration of Community College Month, spotlighting uniquely American institutions like Black Hawk College. Since its inception in 1946, originally as Moline Community College, it has been a beacon for those seeking education. Initially created for World War II veterans, today it serves diverse community needs, from high schoolers earning college credits to adults joining the workforce. Embracing change, Black Hawk College offers pathways for immigrants and opportunities for local businesses to hire skilled workers.
Throughout April, Black Hawk College invites the community to experience various campus events, including open houses, art exhibitions, musical performances, and athletic competitions. Notably, registration for summer and fall classes starts on April 1, 2025; find summer and fall classes here. The college is now accepting applications for its new Occupational Therapy Assistant program, and you can Apply now for fall scholarships.
