The Cinco de Mayo Committee is set to transform the Daily Fix parking area into a vibrant celebration for Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) on November 2nd. From noon to 5 PM, attendees can expect a feast of traditional flavors, including pan de muerto, tamales, pozole, menudo, mole, champurrado, atole, and buñuelos. Organizers encourage the community to join in honoring loved ones with food, music, and festive spirits, celebrating both tradition and togetherness at this cultural gathering.

Across Mexico and in communities worldwide, families honor their deceased loved ones through the tradition of the ofrenda, or altar de muertos, during Día de los Muertos. These altars are vibrant, meaningful displays crafted to welcome spirits back for a brief visit. Decorated with candles symbolizing light, fragrant marigolds to guide the way, personal photos, and favorite foods of the departed, each element has deep significance. Papel picado banners flutter, skulls add whimsy, and offerings like water and copal incense round out the altar. These altars transform mourning into a celebration of life, keeping memories and cultural heritage alive.
