Central School set an impressive example this week by collecting more than 1,200 canned goods during the Gordon Vickrey Memorial Food Drive. The generosity did not stop there, with contributions continuing across the district. Thanks to these collective efforts, Good Fellows delivered 950 baskets of food to families who need support right now. Organizers say community engagement like this makes a lasting impact and helps ensure everyone has access to nutritious meals. The spirit of giving is alive and strong at Central School, showing just how powerful teamwork and compassion can be within the Kewanee community.

The Gordon Vickrey Memorial Food Drive wrapped up with an impressive total: the elementary school gathered 760 canned goods, while the junior high contributed 449. Mrs. Vickrey’s class stood out by collecting 206 cans, securing first place, followed by Ms. Raschke’s class with 149 cans.
