MACOMB, IL – The City of Macomb announced late Monday evening that they were declaring a Snow Emergency starting at 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 8, 2024 until 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2024. During the snow emergency, it shall be unlawful for any person to park or allow a motor vehicle to remain parked on a street that has been designated as a snow route in the city. Snow Routes are listed below.
The main concern with this storm is the potential for blowing snow to cause drifting over streets that have already been cleared.
As a reminder those citizens within the city that are located in the designated sidewalk abatement zones should be prepared for a sidewalk enforcement declaration by the Public Works Director that will result in the need to clear their sidewalks within 24 hours of the public announcement. The City would kindly ask that citizens consider having the sidewalks cleared before Thursday, January 11, 2024 start of school.
