City of Moline Starting Process of Replacing Late Alderman Pat O’Brien

This week, the Mayor of Moline, Sangeetha Rayapati announced that the process of replacing 6th Ward Alderman Pat O’Brien is now underway. O’Brien passed away earlier this year. According to the City of Moline, the Mayor is now accepting applications from people who would like the chance to fill Alderman O’Brien’s seat on the Moline City Council. The only requirement for the job is residing in the 6th Ward. Interested candidates can fill out an application on the City of Moline website, linked here. Candidates will need an Expression of Interest and a Statement of Qualifications in to the City of Moline on or before January 9th, 2024. The Mayor will then meet with and interview candidates between January 15th and January 19th with a recommendation to be announced on the 19th of January. The Moline City Council will then vote on the Mayor’s Choice of candidate at the January 23rd meeting of the Moline City Council.
