The young scout behind the initiative expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming support, emphasizing how the project has made a tangible difference for his peers and classmates. This heartwarming effort not only addresses a basic need but also highlights the power of community-driven initiatives to uplift and support one another. A true testament to the spirit of giving and teamwork.

In Kewanee, local high school senior and Life Scout Garrett Komnick is taking significant strides toward becoming an Eagle Scout, the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America. For his capstone Eagle Scout project, Garrett has organized a community-focused shoe drive to benefit students in the Kewanee School District. From December 26th to January 31st, he mobilized the community to donate gently used or new shoes, specifically targeting the most needed youth sizes.
