Congressman Eric Sorensen recently secured an endorsement from the Illinois Farm Bureau’s political action committee, ACTIVATOR, in his bid for reelection in Illinois’ 17th Congressional District. This endorsement was announced during a gathering at a local farm in Rock Island County, where Sorensen was praised for his accessibility and dedication to agricultural concerns. Flanked by farm leaders and local farmer Jill Craver, Sorensen reiterated his commitment to the farming community, highlighting his efforts on the House Agriculture Committee and his role in shaping a supportive Farm Bill. The endorsement underlines Sorensen’s ongoing commitment to bolster family farming and address agricultural challenges through legislative action.

“For over 20 years as a meteorologist, I worked to protect family farmers from dangerous storms—now, I’m fighting to protect their livelihoods in Congress,” said Sorensen. “I’m honored to have the Illinois Farm Bureau’s recognition and will stand up for every hardworking person in agriculture in the 119th Congress.”

“Today we are here to recognize Congressman Eric Sorensen for his work in congress and specifically the work he has done on behalf of Illinois farmers,” said Rock Island County Farm Bureau Secretary, Dennis VanDael, during the event. “Congressman Sorensen has been accessible to the farmers within the 17th district. And because of his hard work and accessibility to constituents, Illinois Farm Bureau ACTIVATOR is happy to endorse Eric Sorensen for reelection and call him a friend of agriculture.”
