Illinois Congressman Darin LaHood (IL-16) is visiting a local pharmacy in Cambridge as part of his work on the Ways and Means Committee. Congressman LaHood will visit Ridgewood Pharmacy, located at 103 N Prospect Street, at 11:30 AM, on Thursday, August 1, 2024. According to the release, “The visit will provide Congressman LaHood with more information about their operation and they will discuss the importance of local, independently owned pharmacies and Rep. LaHood’s work on the Ways and Means Committee.”
Congressman LaHood was selected by his colleagues to serve on the Ways and Means Committee in January 2018. According to Congressman LaHood’s website, the Ways and Means Committee is the House’s oldest committee and has jurisdiction over all taxation and other revenue-raising measures, trade and tariffs, healthcare, and Social Security. LaHood serves as the Chairman of the Ways and Means Subcommittee on Work and Welfare and is a member of the Subcommittee on Trade.
