Ivan Schinkey:  Ivan Schinkey waived his Preliminary hearing and Formal Arraignment.  A Jury Pre-Trial is scheduled for February 15, 2024, at 1 PM.  Schinkey is charged with Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm (Class 1 Felony), Aggravated Reckless Discharge of a Firearm (Class 4 Felony), Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Ammo (Class 4 Felony), Possession of a Firearm without a valid FOID (Class A Misdemeanor), and Criminal Trespass to Railroad Property (Class C Misdemeanor).

Nicole Emerick:  Nicole Emerick accepted a plea deal for the pending misdemeanor and felony cases.  On or around September 18, 2022, Emerick knowingly made physical contact of an insulting nature, being she kicked the victim.  Emerick was sentenced to enhanced probation for violating the plea deal on April 18, 2023.  Emerick pleaded guilty to Count 2 for Aggravated Battery with a Motor Vehicle (4 Felony).  The remaining counts are dismissed per the plea agreement.  Emerick was sentenced to 24 months of probation, 90 days in the Henry County Jail (stayed pending compliance of the plea agreement), fines and assessments, and credit for three days, Emerick is to have no consumption of alcohol or drugs, seek anger management evaluation and recommended treatment, and 60 hours of public service.  On or about May 13, 2023, the defendant knowingly made contact of an insulting nature, being the defendant struck the victim with her vehicle in the 300 block of E. Court Street in Cambridge.

Cole Carlson:  Cole Carlson, 25, of Neponset, will remain in the Henry County Jail until trial after being charged with vehicle theft and robbery.  According to charging documents, Carlson was in possession of a vehicle he knew to be stolen on January 9, 2024.  According to charging documents, Carlson possessed a flathead screwdriver, designed to start a motor vehicle without the use or possession of a key, with the intent to commit theft.  Carlson entered a vehicle with the intent to commit theft, according to charging documents.  According to charging documents, Carlson obtained unauthorized control over property belonging to the victim, including a drill and spark plugs with a value of less than $500.  Carlson is charged with Possession of a Stolen Vehicle (Class 2 Felony), Burglary (Class 3 Felony), Possession of Burglary Tools (Class 4 Felony), Criminal Trespass to Vehicles (Class A Misdemeanor), and Theft <$500 (Class A Misdemeanor).

Riley McLean:  Riley McLean, 18, of Galva, will remain in the Henry County Jail until Trial.  The Kewanee Police Department responded to a call for an emotionally disturbed person on January 8, 2024.  After an investigation, McLean was identified as a suspect for multiple thefts from motor vehicles overnight into January 8th.  According to charging documents, McLean was in possession of a stolen Chevrolet Malibu and knowingly entered six vehicles without authority.  McLean told the court that he wished to represent himself at his detention hearing.  Attorney Lance Camp objected to McLean’s request because he had concerns regarding Riley McLean’s mental status.  Attorney Camp said he believes that McLean needs a fitness evaluation.  Attorney Camp was assigned as the Public Defender in McLean’s new case and is already assigned as counsel to the current pending cases.  The Court ordered a Fitness Evaluation and scheduled a status hearing for February 22, 2024, at 11 AM.  McLean is charged with Possession of a Stolen Vehicle (Class 2 Felony) and six counts of Criminal Trespass to Vehicles (Class A Misdemeanor).
